      OK heres the deal, I was trying to upgrade my moms emachine pc with some more memory because the thing only came with 256mb of pc2700 ddr mem. Anyway I had some left over mushkin pc3200 and figured it should work, its faster memory so why wouldnt it. Popped in the memory and nothing happens just hear 3 long beeps and the system doesnt post at all.I can pop in the other memory still and itll boot back up, question is why? Is it only compatably with 2700 memory or is there some other trick I can do? Do I have to buy only memory from emachines? Its a model t3624.

I have a budy in texa that has a problem,and i'm stumped in ohio.he has a dell someting or another,im fishing for more info from him as we speak. anyway, he had 256meg of ram, dont know the speed yet.He bought a gig of what he says is "faster" ram.I talked him through the install on the phone.When he powers on he gets some kind of drive 1 error,and has to hit an f key to continue.I had him check all cables to see if he bumped something.All drives work.I asked if the ram was the same speed.He said this was faster.Could this be the problem? Once i installed ram and had to change a setting somewhere for something but forget what and where it was. thanks for anyhelp or advice ya'll might have. Brian
